Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMU) has achieved accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program. This prestigious recognition grants accreditation status to the program for five years with no compliance concerns. 

“Earning accreditation further demonstrates excellence in our program,” said Janet Noles, PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP, Interim Chair of the Department of Nursing, and RMU Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) & Family Nurse Practioner (FNP) Program Director. “We take great pride in offering nursing programs that enable professionals to enhance their skills, knowledge, and credentials while continuing to serve in clinics and hospitals nationwide.”

In order to obtain accreditation, RMU’s MSN program successfully met the four CCNE Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs. These standards include; Mission & Governance, Institutional Commitment & Resources, Curriculum & Teaching-Learning Practices, and Assessment & Achievement of program outcomes.

The RMU Department of Nursing provides both master’s and doctorate programs. The master’s programs offered include Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP), and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Students have the opportunity to enroll in dual programs, enabling them to obtain two licenses within a span of two years.

“Our programs offer a diverse range of learning options, with some being fully online and others combining remote learning with on-campus visits for hands-on training,” said Noles. “Students receive a high-quality education and comprehensive faculty support to assist them in achieving their goals.”

The MSN program allows nurses to earn a Master’s degree while continuing to serve as full-time nursing professionals. The program is primarily online with students in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) tracks coming to campus for 3-5 days per semester to obtain advanced clinical skills. The onsite dates occur during the semester students are enrolled in clinical courses. The program started in 2021 and currently has 98 students enrolled. Learn more about our MSN program here.
